First day of Tailoring

If you saw yesterdays post you'd know that I start the course yesterday, so I thought I'd do a recap of everything that happened from the moment I woke up to the end of the day and how I felt about the first day.

8.00 Am
My alarm went off at 8, and I'll admit for a few seconds I was confused why it went off then I remember I started class today, I don't remember the last time I had to wake up so early so it took me a while to get out of bed.
9.15 Am
By this time I was ready to leave the flat and make my way to Newham for the course.
9.50 Am
I arrived 10 minutes early which is a massive surprise for a girl who's always late for everything, I wasn't as nerves as I thought I'd be, maybe cause I've been through this so many times that I was kinda used to it.
10.00 Am
While everyone was finding a seat, class began, one of the course leaders went through the course handout booklet to talk about the course and what is expected, it went on for an hour but it felt like hours of him talking.
We then had another man talking about fees and the help you can get with it, but i'll be honest and say he didn't really help with anything, he didn't say how to pay or when to pay for the fees, he just mainly spoke about getting help if you have an income of 20k or less a year.
We got given a 15 minutes break afterwards we got taken on the tour of the place to know where everything was but the person taking us around give a fib that he just wanted to get the tour over and done with it.

What's Next for me?...

I've mentioned before that I was planning on doing a short course but I didn't really say much about it until I was sure about the course and until I got accepted, one of the reasons for moving to London has been because I wanted to do a short term course just to build my skills before starting my own business, the course I went for is Bespoke Tailoring Pre-Apprentice course, the reason for me choosing this course is to build my learning on how to sew better I know the basic but I was never that great, I've made stuff but I want to make something that will be a perfect quality and I feel like this course will make it happen, the course is from February 25th (Today, I'm writing this yesterday) till 10th of July I think, its 2.5 days a week meaning I can still find a job and study, and as its a college course I will be getting the typical half terms off.

I didn't want to do a full-time course or go back into university as I knew its not something I actually want to do, thats why I picked this course, the reason also behind it is a friend of mine did this course last year and she showed me what she was doing on it and I wanted to actually do this course, she showed me a month worth of work and sewing skills she build from that one month and I knew I had to try it out since I've been looking for something similar for a while.

I will keep doing an update on what I've learned each week and how I've progressed since starting out on this course.

Knitted Love

Scarf New Look / Knitted Jumper Republic / Jeans New Look / Boots Miss Selfridge
On the nails Greenberry by Barry M.

I've officially moved everything to the flat, there are bits the still need to be moved but that can be at any time, but officially I've moved out of my parents and into a cute little flat in London. It feels good to have everything in the flat and its starting to feel more like a home every day now that I've got my own things in it.

I haven't been at the flat since Friday so I needed to go food shopping and do get some things for the flat so I wanted to go for something comfortable, and of course that meant going for a knitted jumper a pair of jeans and comfy boots.

Why I started Blogging

Todays post is a little different than usual, I wanted to share why I started blogging and what I've learned nearly 2 years after starting, I don't think I've done a post like this before, so I thought I' d share with you the reasons behind it and maybe some of you may go through this or what to keep in mind when you are starting out on your own blog.

It took me 3/4 years to start a blog, I created a Blogger account back in 2009 and I never posted anything, never had the guts to sit in front of the computer and write something, it wasn't until March 17th in 2013 when I decided that it wouldn't hurt to try. When I started this blog I knew I wanted to post about Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle, since I was at university and in the middle of deciding what I wanted to do so I wanted to document my steps and plans, I also wanted to have a blog where I could look back in a few years time and see what I was doing or loving (beauty/fashion product) at a certain time.

Lush Haul

I will be honest and say I never tried anything form Lush since last Summer, I had a friend from college bought me a lash bubble bar for Christmas around 3 years ago and I never used it and I forgot I had it until I moved house and found it in on of the boxes and thought I should try it, I fell in love with lush that I've been wanting to get my hands on it but I didn't have a store near by for me to pick out something I liked to try.

I've seen bloggers raving about Lush Unicorn Horn bubble bar so I had to get my hands on this rainbow beauty, its so colourful and sparkle, I'm not one for going for something girlish but this grapped my attention, I can't wait to try this out.

The second item I purchased is The Comforter bubble bar slice, I'm not lying when I say this actually smells like bubble gum, so you can imagine why I had to purchase this.

I can't wait to try two products out, do you have any lush favourites?

Benefit 'Roller Lash' Mascara

I've been a huge fan of Benefits products specially their 'They're Real' mascara, so when I've heard that they had a new mascara coming out the end of the month I got super excited, I popped into my loco corner shop and purchased the March Elle Edition that came with a smaller sample for their new mascara 'Roller Lash'

I had to give it a try and I haven't been disappointed by it, it curls and makes my eyelashes look longer with one coat but by adding more it makes them look fuller, I've worn it a couple days for a full day and they still makes my eyelashes look like they've just been curled with eyelash curlers.
The only thing I would say bad about is when applying the mascara it felt heavy on my lashes but it fades away and you don't feel a difference after a couple of minutes.

Roller Lash will be instores at the end of the month but will be available to purchase from the 12th of February, I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Have you picked up your copy of this months Elle magazine to try you hands on Roller Lash mascara? If you have, what are your thoughts on the Roller Lash mascara?

First home purchase

If you follow me on Instagram you'd know I recently got the keys to a flat in London, I've made the decision on moving to London last summer, since moving to Essex and having to go through London to go home to Oxford I started falling in love with the City, and I've been excited ever since to finally move and now the time has come to just that.

I'm excited to actually move out of my parents, I will be moving in with a roommate so its not going to as scary as moving out on my own, I will talk more about the moving process once I've settled in.

Just over a month ago I saw this 2 cute glass jars from B&M bargains I think, I'm afraid it was that long that I don't remember, I know there was 3 different colour jars, there was a pastel purple, grey and green, I didn't like the purple tone one so I purchases this two beauty's.

I remember seeing Jack Daniels bottle with flowers, from that moment I wanted to recreate it, (link to image) sadly I didn't keep the bottles of JD from university, so in the mean while before I can recreate  it I've had to find other jars to recreate it. I will create the JD one but that'll take time.

Watch out for Instagram pictures from this beauty in the new place. Thanks for the read.

H&M Backpack | Haul

I've been wanting to get a backpack for months now but I never seem to find one that I like and when ever I did it was out of stock or crazy expensive, I ended up giving up on finding one until I came across this brown leather backpack for £24.99 from H&M.

Since I'm going to be studying in a couple of weeks and currently going back and forward to London and home I needed something that I can take stuff that I need in and make the travel a little easier and I also don't really want to take all my course stuff around in a handbag so I think this will come in handy when I start.

Thats my little purchase for the week, what have you recently been loving that you've purchased?

A touch of Plum

My hair needed a break from all the bleaching and how badly I've been treating lately that I've decided to go back to being a dark brunette for a while, until I decide to change it again.

I've been waiting to use my new Mac Lipstick in Captive since I've got it and I've been waiting for an excuse to try it out. I went for a natural look but with a touch of colour on the lips, if I'm wearing a heavy eye look I don't like to have a dramatic lips I like to either have one or the other.

What I've used on my face:
for Moisturiser I used Neutrogena, Visibly clear oil-free moisturiser, for concealer I used Makeup Revolution cover and conceal palette in Light-Medium, for foundation I used Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation from Benefit in the shade Honey, for blush I used Max Factor creamy blush in Soft Pink, for eyeliner I used Maybelline New York eyestudio lasting drama gel eyeliner in black, for mascara I used Rimmel London Wonderful Mascara in Black, for my eyebrows I used No.7 stay perfect eyeshadow in Matte Mocha for the lips I used Mac Lipstick in Captive

January Favourites

Can't believe January is over, I'm I the only one that felt like it went quiet slow? But I'm excited that its over as I get to move into my new little place with the other half but more on that coming soon.
Its been a very long time since done a monthly favourite but thats changing this year, I'm bring the monthly favourites, I've got quiet a few things that I've been loving in January, I've decided to just do one beauty, fashion and lifestyle, I wanted to mix things up a bit.

Nip+Fab Bee Sting Mask, I've used this every other day since I've bought this product, I haven't been disappointed in it, I've seen a massive improvement on my skin, I will be purchasing more Nip+Fab products soon.

Kimono/Blanket wrap from Primark, I bought this kimono for holiday just to wear when it was chilly as I didn't want to wear something big and heavy, this has been my favourite piece of clothing I've bought, its so comfy and warm, I tend to wear it around the house when I feel a bit chilly and it keeps me warm.

Conceal & Correct from Makeup Revolution, I've been using this from the moment I've bought it, just like that it matches my skin tone, its good enough coverage in my opinion, I haven't been disappointed in it yet.

Notebook from WHSmithi, this has come useful when I have ideas floating in my head I can just write them down, and its been helping me getting organised with things.

And thats what I've been loving in January, what have you been loving in January?

Our final day... Day 11

Saturday was our proper day in Madeira, we ended up seeing some of the Lemos side of the family in Porto Santo, after I got to see a cousin and aunty from my side of the family in Santana which I haven't seen since last Summer so it was nice to have a catch up, we got to see some nice views and places in Santana while we was there.

In the evening we went out for a nice meal just the two of us which was nice to have some 'us' time specially on our last day.

I had such a wonderful time in Madeira, it was nice to see everyone and also had the perfect first holiday with the boyfriend and one to remember for sure, sad it ended but I can't wait to be back and holiday for the New Years I could make it again.

I hope you enjoyed all the Madeira posts, if you haven't seen all 11 days, I'll leave a link so you can check all of them out.

Bucket List for 2015

I've got a lot of things planned for 2015, I'm not doing New Years resolutions even though I did it last year and managed to complete 3 out 5 things of my resolution I decided that for this year I'll do something different hense the tittle 'Bucket List', I know its February and you kinda of set goals starting January but I was still figuring out what I wanted to put on my list, I wanted to make sure I put things that I actually want to achieve and are realistic to me. I picked at least 10 things to hopefully tick off the Bucket List for 2015.

1. Become Healthier/ Fitter
Living at home and working in the family business has been quiet unhealthy, there's been a lot of temptations in the house, snacks and desserts and fast food (the family business) which I've defiantly put on the weight thanks to it, since I'm moving out I don't really have the excuse to eat bad and not exercise, I've found some great fitness blogs that have inspired me, I'm looking forward to getting fit in my own home while starting out and to eating healthier.

2. Stop spending money.
I can be the worst at saving money and spending wisely, something I want to do this year is to cut down on going shopping (beauty & clothes) and start saving money for the future like holidays, home.

3. Have my own Business.
I want to start my very own online clothing business, this is something I've wanted to do since my early teens and I want to start building a career for myself, can't reveal too much as of yet but I will keep you posted.

4. Spending more time with friends
Since moving to a new place with the family and working 7 months straight has been crazy meaning that seeing friends have made it a little impossible, as for this year I want to start seeing and spending more time with friends, catch up on old times.

5. Start doing/having Photo Albums
I like to be able to look at picture in photo albums and not having to pull my phone or laptop out to see them and having to worry that if either brake I'll loose them all, for this year I've decided to start developing pictures and sorting photo albums.

6. Find a Fashion Courses.
Something I've been thinking for quiet a while is to do a short course for a couple months that could help me towards with having my own business.

7. Get back into designing.
Fashion design has been a big part of me since my early teens and its something I can get lost in my own little world while designing and I feel like its a stress relieve to me, its been over 5 months since I sat down and started doing any design and I definitely want to get back into it.

8. Go to festivals
I haven't been to a festival since 2011 I know thats 4 years without going to one again, my goal is to go to at least 2 maybe more this year.

9. Go travelling
Something I want to do this year and in the next couple years is to go on holiday to different places and start ticking places off my travel list, I want to explore places and not keep going to the same place and over again.

10. Have fun!!!
One of the things I wanted to do after quitting Uni last May was to have fun and not be stuck working or at home, sadly those plans didn't go to plan as I had to work most of the Summer, so one of my goals is to just have fun and not to worry so much.

Thats my Bucket List for 2015, follow me on Instagram we I'll be posting things I get up to and things I've been loving. Thanks for reading.
